Capital Campaign: Synthetic Ice and Off-Ice Training Facility!
Founded in 1959, the Spokane Americans Youth Hockey Association (SAYHA), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is committed to the athletic and character development of youth hockey players.
SAYHA provides programming to over 450 players from across the Spokane area from ages 5-18 each season, beginning with Learn to Play and progressing to 18U national tournament-bound players with aspirations of college hockey and beyond. SAYHA operates as a year-round model, hosting specialty programs like Sled Hockey, goalie clinics, and girls clinics, off-season (spring/summer) camps and clinics for hundreds of players each year, and provides administrative support to the area’s Special Hockey program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We are thrilled to take our association athletes to the next level with our new off-ice training facility where our players can engage in specialized workouts, drills and exercises that will enhance their performance on the ice. This facility is a crucial part of our overall programming that will improve athletic performance. The facility will be utilized for strength and conditioning where players will work on building agility and endurance through targeted workout with licensed and certified trainers. This includes weightlifting, plyometrics and cardio routines tailored to hockey players’ specific needs. The facility will also utilize the largest synthetic ice sheet in the region, which will be used for stick-handling drills, shooting practice, passing exercises and agility training.
