Spokane Youth Hockey is pleased to announce that we have hired Katie Sieck as our new Spokane Jr. Chiefs Program and Public Relations Specialist.

Katie has dedicated many years of professional growth in community-based non-profit youth program management, website development, and event leadership. In Washington DC, she worked as the Development Coordinator and Manager at the Friends of Fort Dupont Ice Arena, managing fundraising, program development, event and strategic communication efforts, while supporting volunteer recruitment and community outreach efforts, including relationships with the Washington Capitals, USA Hockey and U.S. Figure Skating.

Katie is a passionate hockey fan, hosting a four-part call-in segment called “Hockey Kate” on DC’s largest sports radio station during the 2010 NHL/AHL playoffs, discussing all things hockey! She has also had the opportunity to attend the American Special Hockey Association (ASHA) festival in Maryland as a member of the press, building a great relationship with the head of ASHA and writing press articles supporting the allotment of additional ice time for special hockey programs across the country. Katie also managed the Washington Capitals team store, creating custom jerseys and acting as a liaison for team and player personnel. Make sure to ask Katie about her first meeting with Alex Ovechkin!

Katie is a skilled grant writer, along with her many media development talents, including website development, marketing/social media design, outreach/strategic planning and commitment to outstanding customer service. Spokane Youth Hockey is thrilled to have Katie join our already great staff to implement our Board of Director’s vision and commitment to our mission to benefit our youth hockey players and our community.
