Jason Greenwell
Vice President – Hockey Operations.
The Vice President – Hockey Operations will provide oversight and direction for activities and staffing related to the ongoing operations of SAYHA’s programming. Such responsibilities shall include aligning the strategic goals of the Board with the day-to-day operations of the SAYHA Hockey Director. Additionally, this position will work with a focus on player, coach, and team development initiatives.  The Vice President – Hockey Operations shall…

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 3-5 years hockey coaching experience
  • Thorough understanding of age-appropriate coaching and development practices for all age groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively with our Hockey Director and/or Skills Director(s) on all aspects of on ice or off ice training (includes practice planning, video, coach meetings, SAYHA skills, evaluations, off ice training, coach selection, etc).
  • Prior record of organizational responsibility (i.e. youth sports organization or business experience)
  • Established, well-respected presence and contacts within Eastern Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and British Columbia
  • Thorough understanding of USA Hockey’s structure and operations, including playing rules
  • Thorough understanding of PNAHA’s structure and operations, including communications with USA Hockey appointed directors that work within our affiliate
  • Thorough understanding of Hockey Canada’s structure and operations, including playing rules
  • Thorough understanding of BC Hockey’s structure and operations, including playing rules
  • Thorough understanding of PNAHA, WKMHA, and OMAHA league rules and operations
  • Thorough understanding of KIJHL structure and operations
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to balance conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow, ensure the completion of essential projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak in front of a crowd
  • Must have a flexible schedule to include weekends, nights, and events as needed
  • Ability to utilize software to advance player and coach development (Team Genius, LiveBarn)
  • Experience managing staff and volunteer committee members

Terra Kile
Treasurer.
 The Treasurer shall have the care and custody of all the funds of the corporation, which shall be disbursed by the Treasurer only upon the order of the Board of Directors or of the President.  The Treasurer shall report at each regular meeting of the Board of Directors the financial condition of the corporation at the close of the previous month.  All funds belonging to the corporation shall be deposited in a checking/savings account established by the corporation and all disbursements shall be by check or by electronic means. The Treasurer shall be bonded in an amount to be determined by the Board of Directors and the bond premium shall be paid by the corporation.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Educational emphasis in accounting, human resources, and/or business management
  • An understanding of fiduciary responsibility and how it relates to nonprofit organizations
  • Experience in creating and implementing sound financial system for nonprofits, including cash flow management
  • Experience with non profit organizations and federal, state and local tax implications
  • Experience developing and implementing nonprofit accounting systems and maintaining proper records
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and benchmarking, with specific emphasis in strategic planning for growth and future success
  • Experience with Eagles Operations LLC and SAYHA policies and procedures in order to make recommendations regarding how financial decisions will be made
  • Experience managing staff and volunteer committee members
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must have a flexible schedule to include weekends, nights and events as needed

Michael Truex
Safe Sport Director.
The Safe Sport Director shall be responsible for the monitoring and supervision of all aspects of USA Hockey’s Safe Sport Program which includes the implementation and enforcement of policies, reinforcement of all training and screening requirements, and responding, reporting and adjudicating all Safe Sport complaints. The Safe Sport Director shall report to the Board of Directors regarding whether Safe Sport procedures are being followed, and how they may be improved so that they result in a safe environment for all SAYHA participants. The Safe Sport Director shall coordinate and enforce the Locker Room Policy, Electronic Communications Policy, Travel Policy, and/or Billet Policy where applicable. The Safe Sport Director will report monthly to the PNAHA Safe Sport Coordinator regarding any Safe Sport complaints/cases that may arise, and attend any Safe Sport training that are required. The Safe Sport Director will work with SAYHA staff to ensure Safe Sport and background screening compliance by all coaches, Board members, staff and volunteers.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 2+ years prior experience in risk management or compliance roles (education administration, law enforcement experience preferred)
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly both speaking and in writing
  • Possess a collaborative personality and be open to suggestions and solutions
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex situations and policies
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines
  • Should have a strong moral code and sense of ethics
  • Must be able to respond via email and telephone during weekday hours and weekends
  • Must have a flexible schedule to include weekends, nights and events as needed

Bob Hartzog
Member Relations Director.
The Member Relations Director will provide excellent customer service to current, as well as prospective, members. The Member Relations Director will build trusted relationships with members and is instrumental in driving growth and retention initiatives. The Member Relations Director will ensure that members develop positive relationships with Spokane Youth Hockey and that their experience within our organization is favorable. Working closely with the rest of the Board of Directors, staff, and committees, the Member Relations Director will take responsibility for coordinating protocols, procedures, practices, and policies around how Spokane Youth Hockey handles, manages, speaks with, and looks after members on a day to day basis. The Member Relations Director will coordinate and communicate with Age Group Coordinators and Team Managers and will obtain regular feedback from members. The Member Relations Director will take an active role in dealing with complaints or problems, and will work with team liaisons and other SAYHA personnel to resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Educational concentration in business, communications, journalism, public relations, hospitality management or recreation
  • Experience in sales, marketing, relationship management, customer service, hospitality, membership associations and/or fundraising
  • Experience in leading a team or project to a successful outcome (former/current SAYHA team management experience preferred)
  • High energy, outgoing personality
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong technical literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, and social media
  • Must be able to respond via email and telephone during weekday hours and weekends
  • Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships easily
  • Knowledge of SAYHA policies and procedures
  • Must have a flexible schedule to include weekends, nights, and events as needed
