It seems strange that we are fast approaching the end of another hockey season, and with all of the excitement that accompanies playoffs, State Tournaments, and Festivals, we do have an important election coming up for three (3) Board of Directors positions: Vice President – Administration, Public Relations Director and Community Development Director who will serve three (3) year terms. There is currently a Board vacancy which will also be voted on with this election.

SAYHA is (and always has been) a primarily volunteer-driven organization. Our Board of Directors is committed to working hard to make Spokane Youth Hockey the premier organization in our region, and we are in need of additional dedicated Board members to join our team!

Below are the job descriptions and time commitment involved with the position, along with the contact information of the volunteer who currently holds the position. If you are interested in any of these roles in our organization, please make an effort to attend our Board of Director meetings and/or reach out to the person who is currently involved to ask questions about what the role entails. Being a member of the Board of Directors is a second “job” and requires a high level of commitment and involvement from those who hold the position.

Vice President – Administration
The Vice President – Administration will provide oversight and direction for activities and staffing related to the ongoing administration of the Association. Such responsibilities shall include aligning the strategic goals of the Board with the day to day operations of the SAYHA Business Manager. Additionally, this position will work with the Eagles Operations Board of Directors (or will be SAYHA’s representative to that Board) to ensure that SAYHA’s requirements are being met from a facilities perspective. The Vice President – Administration shall
… in the absence of the President, or in the event of the President’s disability, perform all of the duties of the President.
… succeed to the office of President in the event of a vacancy in that office.
… be the presiding officer in the absence of the President.
The Vice President – Administration may also sit on certain committees to ensure the Board’s directives and committee’s desires align with the strategic direction of the Association.
This position is a 3-year term.
Public Relations Director
The SAYHA Director of Public Relations will be responsible for the oversight and direction of marketing efforts, equipment/apparel/uniform orders, club growth initiatives, and other duties as assigned. This position may also sit on certain committees to ensure the Board’s directives and committee’s desires align with the strategic direction of the Association.
This position is a 3-year term.
Community Development Director 
The SAYHA Community Development Director will be responsible for the oversight and execution of fundraising and sponsorship activities such as (but not limited to): Annual SAYHA Winter Raffle, Wreath Sales, Picture Night, etc. Additionally, this position will assist teams with fundraising efforts as needed/requested. This position may also sit on certain committees to ensure the Board’s directives and committee’s desires align with the strategic direction of the Association.
This position is a 3-year term.
