U17 Zone – Player Travel Letters Due
Location: Eagles Ice Arena
Each player will need a letter giving them permission to travel into Canada on the bus for our Kamloops trip. This is an expectation for all players even if they have a parent on the bus.
The letter just gives permission to Spokane Jr Chiefs staff and/or the adult traveling with their player, to take your player across the border. I added medical consent to mine as a precaution but have never needed it.
If you are having one parent traveling with your player on the bus have the letter name the parent traveling (just like you normally do). If you have no parents/guardians traveling with your player, please name the person who is in charge of your child along with Spokane Jr Chiefs staff (example attached).
I also added how you could notarize the letter if you wish (Harmony is a notary) or you can just add a copy of each guardians ID on the bottom of the letter. Again, a bit more information to make it easy for the team to cross.
Adults traveling on the bus please make sure you have all the documents you will need to cross the border on you. We will have more information about how we will be working with adults on the bus to cross the border soon.
When players get on the bus, they will need to hand me the picture ID they will be using at the border. This could be an Enhanced ID or passport. I do not want to collect these until the morning of February 17 as some of them might need it to drive! If your child will be using a birth certificate, they can hand that to me then as well.
We will board the bus based on birth year and then birth month as that is how the binder is organized. I will then hand the binder off to Kat. She will hang onto all items until they cross the border back into the US on Sunday. At that time – all Drivers Licenses/Passports/Birth certificates will be handed back to each player. The notebook will be given back to me, and I will shred all paperwork unless you request the papers to be returned to you.
Please have the letter to me by end of the game on Sunday, February 4th so the notebook can be ready to roll for our trip.
Let me know if you have any questions.
