Safe Sport Director

Bio

As the former Program Director and Registrar at SAYHA, I have a deep knowledge of the organization, its people, its policies, and its mission and vision. Through my work, I supported the work of the Board of Directors and staff, as well as the role of Safe Sport Director through education, coach/parent/volunteer/player communication, Safe Sport investigation, policy development, and policy enforcement. In that role, I served as a member of the Conduct and Character Committee, supporting player discipline and role model recognition, supporting the development of the Send a Celly program. I also developed Jr. Chiefs LEAD, a leadership workshop for the Association’s youth hockey players, and led the four-day program in summer 2023.

Additionally, I served as SAYHA’s representative to PNAHA, and retain my membership as chair of the PNAHA PR Committee as well as serving on the Governance and Steering Committees.

Through these experiences, and my background in sports-based youth development nonprofit work, I’m deeply familiar and connected to the important role that Safe Sport plays in the lives of our players, coaches, families, and volunteers. During my time at SAYHA, I took the time to get to know all of our players and families (most by name!), and remain connected to the Association’s athletes and families. Without a player in the Association, I am able to act as an impartial party during Safe Sport investigations, using my empathy and compassion, as well as my knowledge of the Association to support my efforts in this important role.
